South America Map Viewer

A free online map viewer for South America, built on Esri imagery and topographic basemaps, with national layers for Peru, Brazil and Uruguay and GOES-East satellite imagery.

Peru: the IGN/INGEMMET base map, the INGEMMET mining cadastre, the 1:50,000 geological map and political boundaries. Brazil: IBGE state boundaries. Uruguay: the IDEuy base map and 2017–2018 aerial imagery. Coverage by country is uneven; the Global page has the worldwide layers.

Use the search box to find a place, measure distances and areas, draw lines, polygons and buffers, click the map to query the layers that support it, convert coordinates between decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds and UTM, and load your own KML or KMZ files. It is free for personal use and needs no account.
