A free online world map viewer with worldwide basemaps, satellite imagery, and weather and ocean overlays.
Basemaps: Esri World Imagery, World Topo, World Hillshade, World Ocean Base, World Physical, World Shaded Relief and NatGeo World Map, plus the Esri street maps. NASA GIBS supplies Blue Marble, Blue Marble with bathymetry and Landsat global mosaics, plus daily true colour from VIIRS and MODIS and 30 m Sentinel-2 and Landsat pictures of a date you choose. Weather satellites: GOES-East and GOES-West (the Americas, with red visible, dust, fire temperature and air mass products), Himawari (Asia-Pacific) and Meteosat (Europe and Africa), plus hourly NOAA mosaics of all the weather satellites in infrared, water vapor and visible light, and lightning strike density for the Pacific and the Americas. A live layer shows the International Space Station and China’s Tiangong station moving in real time, with their orbit paths, and live aircraft positions from the adsb.lol community network (military aircraft worldwide, every aircraft once you zoom in), a map of 45 notable reported UFO incidents from Wikidata, rocket launches (The Space Devs), weather, GPS, Galileo and bright satellites (CelesTrak), about 9,200 large dams (Global Dam Watch), bikes available at about 12,600 bikeshare stations (open GBFS feeds), street-level photos you can click once zoomed in (Mapillary and Panoramax) and world radio stations you can listen to. The worldwide overlays in the list below include GEBCO bathymetry, tectonic plate boundaries, the Macrostrat geologic map, sea surface temperature, precipitation, weather forecasts, nautical charts and hiking trails.
Use the search box to find a place, measure distances and areas, draw lines, polygons and buffers, click the map to query the layers that support it, convert coordinates between decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds and UTM, and load your own KML or KMZ files. It is free for personal use and needs no account.
