A free online map viewer for Canada. It brings together the Toporama and CanVec topographic maps from Natural Resources Canada, Esri imagery and topographic basemaps, and Canadian land, road and weather layers in one map.
Canada-specific layers include the Canada Lands Survey System (Aboriginal lands and national parks), the Statistics Canada National Road Network, Environment and Climate Change Canada weather radar and the Government of the Northwest Territories basemap. GOES-East and GOES-West satellite imagery covers the whole country. The worldwide layers marked “Global” are listed below as well. Live layers show highway cameras in British Columbia (DriveBC) and Ontario (Ontario 511) and traffic cameras in Calgary. A feeder-bird layer summarises Project FeederWatch counts.
Use the search box to find a place, measure distances and areas, draw lines, polygons and buffers, click the map to query the layers that support it, convert coordinates between decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds and UTM, and load your own KML or KMZ files. It is free for personal use and needs no account.
