Africa Map Viewer

A free online map viewer for Africa. It combines several continent-wide basemaps so that you can compare imagery, terrain and place names in one map.

Basemaps: Esri World Imagery, World Topo, World Physical and NatGeo World Map, OpenTopoMap, the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) base map and the United Nations OCHA base map. The Meteosat natural colour satellite layer from EUMETSAT covers Africa and Europe, and the worldwide layers marked “Global” are listed below.

Use the search box to find a place, measure distances and areas, draw lines, polygons and buffers, click the map to query the layers that support it, convert coordinates between decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds and UTM, and load your own KML or KMZ files. It is free for personal use and needs no account.
