New Zealand Map Viewer

A free online map viewer for New Zealand, using data from Land Information New Zealand (LINZ).

LINZ layers: aerial imagery, the NZ Topo raster map and two hillshade layers. They are combined with Esri imagery, the Esri street and outdoor maps, the Esri World Hillshade and the Himawari infrared satellite layer (Japan Meteorological Agency and NASA). The worldwide layers marked “Global” are listed below as well.

Use the search box to find a place, measure distances and areas, draw lines, polygons and buffers, click the map to query the layers that support it, convert coordinates between decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds and UTM, and load your own KML or KMZ files. It is free for personal use and needs no account.
